Inspired by the warmth and colour of a French harbour, Reflets du Port captures a quiet waterfront where colourful façades, small boats and their reflections become part of the same vibrant scene.
Rather than creating a literal representation, I wanted to express the atmosphere of the harbour through colour. Warm yellows, oranges and ochres contrast with the intense red sky and deep blue water, while the reflections below give the composition an almost dreamlike quality.
Visible brushstrokes and layers of acrylic paint add texture and depth to the surface, making the original painting a very different experience from seeing it on a screen.
